Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 17 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply when you purchase products or services from Legacy Stones through our website or directly from us.

Please read them carefully before placing an order.

By placing an order with Legacy Stones, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. About Legacy Stones

Legacy Stones creates personalised memorial products and online tribute pages designed to help families preserve and share memories of someone special.

Our website is:

www.legacy-stones.com

You can contact us at:

Email: info@legacy-stones.com

Throughout these Terms, “Legacy Stones”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the Legacy Stones business.

“You” and “your” refer to the person placing the order.

2. Our products and services

Legacy Stones products and services may include:

  • Personalised engraved memorial stones

  • Online memorial and tribute pages

  • QR codes linking memorial stones to tribute pages

  • Personalised stainless-steel QR keyrings

  • Multiple-stone packages

  • Other personalised memorial products that we may introduce

Product descriptions, photographs and examples shown on our website are provided to help you understand the product you are purchasing.

Because many of our products use natural materials and are individually personalised, your finished product may not look identical to photographs shown on our website.

3. Natural stone

Our memorial stones are made using natural stone.

Natural variations may occur in:

  • Shape

  • Size

  • Colour

  • Surface texture

  • Thickness

  • Markings

  • Edges

  • Veining

These variations are part of the natural character of the stone and are not normally considered defects.

We will take reasonable care to select stones suitable for personalisation and engraving.

4. Placing an order

When you place an order, you are offering to purchase the products and services selected subject to these Terms.

An order is accepted when we confirm that we have accepted it.

We may contact you if we need further information before starting your order.

This might include:

  • Names

  • Dates

  • Photographs

  • Tribute information

  • Wording

  • Design choices

  • Delivery information

  • Other details required to complete your memorial

You are responsible for providing accurate information.

5. Personalisation

Our memorial products are made specifically for you.

You are responsible for checking information you provide, including:

  • Names

  • Dates

  • Spelling

  • Quotes

  • Messages

  • Photographs

  • Tribute text

  • Locations

  • Other personalised details

Where we provide a design or wording proof for approval, you should check it carefully before approving it.

Once you approve a design, we may begin producing your personalised product.

If an error appears in the finished product because the information you supplied or approved was incorrect, we may charge for producing a replacement.

If the error was made by Legacy Stones, we will correct it at no additional cost to you.

6. Photographs

You may provide photographs for inclusion on your memorial product or online tribute page.

You confirm that you have the right or appropriate permission to provide those photographs to us and allow us to use them for the purpose of fulfilling your order.

We may:

  • Resize photographs

  • Crop photographs

  • Adjust image positioning

  • Make minor adjustments needed for display or engraving

  • Optimise files for website use

We will not deliberately alter the meaning or character of a photograph.

The appearance of an image on natural stone may differ from its appearance on a phone, computer screen or printed photograph.

7. Content you provide

You are responsible for the photographs, text, memories, messages and other materials you provide to us.

By providing this material, you give Legacy Stones permission to use, reproduce, resize, format and display it as reasonably necessary to create and operate your memorial product and tribute page.

You retain ownership of content you own.

You must not knowingly provide material that:

  • Infringes another person's copyright

  • Breaches another person's privacy

  • Is unlawful

  • Is defamatory

  • Is threatening or abusive

  • Contains malicious software or harmful code

  • Is otherwise unsuitable for a memorial tribute

We may decline to publish or may remove content where we reasonably believe it is unlawful or seriously inappropriate.

8. Tribute pages

Where your order includes an online tribute page, we will create a memorial webpage using the information, photographs and content supplied to us.

A tribute page may include features such as:

  • Biography or life story

  • Photographs

  • Timeline

  • Memories

  • Favourite things

  • Family or friend tributes

  • Memory locations

  • Messages

  • Other memorial content

The exact layout and features may vary depending on the tribute design purchased.

9. Public access to tribute pages

Unless otherwise agreed, Legacy Stones tribute pages should be treated as publicly accessible webpages.

Anyone who:

  • Scans the QR code

  • Receives the direct website link

  • Finds the page through another permitted route

may be able to view the tribute.

You should therefore only provide content for publication that you are comfortable being publicly available.

Please do not submit private contact details, confidential information or information about living individuals that should not be made public.

10. QR codes

We take reasonable care to ensure that the QR code supplied with your memorial links to the correct Legacy Stones tribute page when the product is produced.

A QR code requires a compatible device, suitable camera or QR scanning application and an internet connection.

We cannot guarantee that every device, camera application or third-party QR reader will recognise a QR code.

Some Android devices may require a separate QR reader application.

QR functionality may also be affected by:

  • Damage to the stone or keyring

  • Dirt or obstruction

  • Extreme wear

  • Poor lighting

  • Camera quality

  • Device compatibility

  • Internet availability

  • Third-party browser or software issues

If you experience difficulty accessing a tribute page, please contact us.

11. Tribute page availability

We intend Legacy Stones tribute pages to remain available for the service period described when you purchase your product.

However, internet services and technologies can change over time.

We may occasionally need to:

  • Maintain the website

  • Change hosting arrangements

  • Change website technology

  • Update webpage structures

  • Change URLs

  • Migrate tribute pages to another system

  • Temporarily suspend parts of the website for maintenance or security

Where reasonably possible, we will aim to preserve access to existing tribute pages and associated QR codes.

We do not guarantee that the website will be completely uninterrupted or error-free at all times.

Nothing in these Terms removes any legal rights you may have in relation to the service we have agreed to provide.

12. Changes to a tribute page

We understand that memories continue to grow.

You may contact us if you would like information on your tribute page corrected or updated.

Minor factual corrections may be made at our discretion without charge.

More substantial changes, redesigns or additions may incur a reasonable administration or design fee.

We will tell you about any charge before carrying out paid additional work.

13. Removing a tribute page

The person who purchased or controls the tribute may ask us to remove the tribute page.

Before acting on a removal request, we may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify the request.

Once a tribute page has been removed:

  • The normal webpage will no longer be publicly accessible

  • The QR code will no longer open the original tribute page

  • Some cached copies or search-engine references may temporarily remain outside our direct control

If you would like a copy of photographs or information from a tribute, please contact us before requesting permanent deletion.

We may retain limited order or accounting information where we are legally required to do so.

14. Tribute disputes

Occasionally, family members or other people may disagree about material appearing on a tribute page.

Legacy Stones cannot determine family, inheritance, copyright or other private disputes.

If we receive a credible complaint concerning unlawful, infringing or seriously inappropriate material, we may temporarily restrict access to relevant content while the matter is considered.

Where appropriate, we may ask the parties concerned to resolve the dispute between themselves or obtain appropriate professional advice.

15. Prices

Prices are shown on our website in pounds sterling (£).

The price payable will normally be the price displayed when you place your order.

Any delivery charges or optional extras will be shown before the order is completed where applicable.

We may change our prices at any time, but changes will not normally affect orders we have already accepted.

16. Current Legacy Stones packages

Our product range may change from time to time.

Current products may include:

Single Stone Package
One personalised memorial stone and one online tribute page.

Two Stone Package
Two personalised memorial stones linked to one tribute page.

Three Stone Package
Three personalised memorial stones linked to one tribute page.

We may also offer personalised stainless-steel QR keyrings as an optional product alongside an eligible memorial stone purchase.

The price and contents shown on the product page at the time of purchase will form part of your order.

17. Payment

Payment must normally be made through the payment methods offered on our website.

Payments may be processed on our behalf by third-party payment providers.

We do not normally store your complete payment-card details.

Your order may not enter production until payment has been successfully received.

18. Changes to your order

If you need to change your order, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will try to accommodate reasonable changes where production has not begun.

Once engraving, printing, personalisation or other production has started, it may not be possible to make changes.

If a requested change causes additional work or material costs, we may charge a reasonable additional amount.

We will explain any additional charge before proceeding.

19. Cancellation of personalised products

Most Legacy Stones physical products are personalised specifically for the person named in your order.

Personalised or genuinely custom-made products do not generally carry the standard right to cancel simply because you have changed your mind.

This may apply to products including:

  • Memorial stones engraved with names, dates, photographs, messages or QR codes

  • Personalised QR keyrings

  • Other individually customised memorial products

However, this does not affect your statutory rights if a product is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise does not meet the legal standards required.

If you wish to cancel before personalisation or production has begun, please contact us immediately.

Where we can stop the order without having incurred significant costs, we will consider the cancellation and any appropriate refund.

20. Tribute-page services and cancellation

Creation of your tribute page is a service forming part of your Legacy Stones order.

If you ask us to begin creating your tribute page during any statutory cancellation period that applies to that service, you may be asked to expressly request that we begin work immediately.

If you subsequently cancel while you still have a statutory right to do so, we may be entitled to charge a proportionate amount for work already completed, where permitted by law.

Where the service has been fully completed after you expressly requested early performance and acknowledged the effect on your cancellation rights, your statutory cancellation right may end in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Nothing in this section limits rights you have by law.

21. Faulty or damaged products

We want you to be happy with your Legacy Stones product.

If your product arrives:

  • Damaged

  • Faulty

  • Incorrectly personalised because of an error by us

  • Significantly different from the agreed description

please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

We may ask you to provide photographs showing the issue so that we can investigate it.

Depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights, an appropriate remedy may include:

  • Repair

  • Replacement

  • Reproduction

  • Price reduction

  • Refund

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these Terms.

22. Natural variations are not normally faults

Because natural stones are individually shaped and textured, reasonable differences in colour, surface texture, size, edge shape or natural markings are not normally considered faults.

Similarly, engraved or printed photographs may look different on stone compared with an illuminated digital screen.

We will nevertheless take reasonable care to provide products consistent with the description and examples given.

23. Delivery

We will provide an estimated delivery or production timeframe where possible.

Delivery dates are estimates unless we specifically agree a guaranteed date with you.

We will take reasonable care to dispatch orders within the agreed timeframe.

If an unexpected delay occurs, we will try to let you know.

We are responsible for meeting our legal obligations regarding delivery and these Terms do not remove any rights you have under consumer law.

Please ensure that you provide a correct delivery address.

If a parcel is returned because the address you provided was incorrect or incomplete, an additional delivery charge may apply before it is sent again.

24. Checking your delivery

Please inspect your product after delivery.

If it appears to have been damaged during delivery, please contact us and provide photographs of:

  • The product

  • The damage

  • The packaging where possible

This helps us investigate the issue with the delivery provider.

Reporting a delivery issue promptly can make resolving the matter easier, but does not remove any statutory rights you may have.

25. Outdoor use

Legacy Stones may be designed for outdoor display where indicated in the relevant product description.

Natural materials will weather over time.

Exposure to:

  • Rain

  • Frost

  • Strong sunlight

  • Extreme temperatures

  • Dirt

  • Algae

  • Chemicals

  • Impact or abrasion

may gradually alter the appearance of a stone or its engraving.

Reasonable weathering through normal outdoor use is not necessarily a product defect.

Any specific care guidance supplied with your product should be followed.

26. Keyrings

Where available, QR keyrings are personalised accessories linked to a Legacy Stones tribute page.

Keyrings may only be available alongside an eligible memorial stone purchase.

Because keyrings are individually engraved or personalised, the personalised-product cancellation provisions in these Terms also apply to them.

QR codes on keyrings may become harder to scan if the engraved surface becomes badly scratched, damaged, covered or worn.

27. Intellectual property

The Legacy Stones name, logo, website design, layouts, graphics and other original business materials belong to Legacy Stones or are used under appropriate licence.

They may not be reproduced commercially without permission.

You retain ownership of original photographs, text or other material that you provide where you own the relevant rights.

By supplying content to us, you give us the permission necessary to use that content to fulfil and maintain the service you purchased.

28. Website use

You must not misuse our website.

You must not knowingly:

  • Introduce viruses or malicious software

  • Attempt unauthorised access to the website or hosting systems

  • Interfere with website operation

  • Scrape or harvest personal information unlawfully

  • Copy substantial parts of the website for commercial use without permission

29. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our failure to comply with these Terms or by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, where required by law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

In particular, nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights relating to goods or services.

We are not responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been foreseen when the contract was entered into.

30. Events outside our reasonable control

Occasionally, events outside our reasonable control may affect our ability to fulfil an order or operate our online services.

These could include:

  • Major internet or hosting failures

  • Postal or courier disruption

  • Severe weather

  • Fire or flood

  • Cybersecurity incidents

  • Government restrictions

  • Major supplier disruption

  • Other exceptional events

Where this happens, we will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and communicate with affected customers.

This section does not remove rights you may have under consumer law.

31. Privacy

We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy explains:

  • What information we collect

  • Why we collect it

  • How it is used

  • How long it may be retained

  • Who it may be shared with

  • Your data-protection rights

Our use of cookies and similar technologies is explained in our Cookie Policy.

32. Complaints

We want to resolve any problems fairly and promptly.

If you are unhappy with a Legacy Stones product or service, please contact us first at:

info@legacy-stones.com

Please provide your name, order information and details of the issue.

We will investigate your complaint and aim to find an appropriate resolution.

33. Your statutory rights

These Terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Under UK consumer law, goods supplied by businesses must meet applicable legal standards, including being as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose where applicable.

Services must also be performed with reasonable care and skill.

34. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in England and Wales.

If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory rights and protections applicable where you live.

Nothing in these Terms prevents you from exercising any rights you have to bring proceedings in an appropriate court under applicable consumer law.

35. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect:

  • Changes to our products

  • Changes to our services

  • Changes to our website

  • Changes in technology

  • Changes to suppliers

  • Changes in applicable law

The Terms that applied when your order was accepted will normally continue to govern that order.

The latest version will be published on the Legacy Stones website.
