About Legacy Stones
Every stone has a story.
Legacy Stones was created from a simple belief: a person’s life should be remembered for more than just their name and dates.
Behind every person are stories, photographs, favourite places, little sayings, family memories, moments of laughter and the things that made them uniquely them.
We wanted to create a beautiful way to preserve those memories and make them easy to share with generations to come.
That idea became Legacy Stones.
The people behind the idea
Our story
Lewin Martin & Rose Martin
Legacy Stones is deeply personal to us.
The idea was inspired by my own parents, Lewin Martin and Rose Martin, who have both sadly passed away.
After losing them, I wanted to find a way to preserve more than just their names and dates. I wanted to remember their stories, their personalities, their photographs, the places that mattered to them and all the little things that made them who they were.
That desire to create something lasting in their memory became the inspiration for Legacy Stones.
So, in many ways, this business exists because of them.
Every Legacy Stone we create is shaped by the same thought that first inspired me:
How can we help keep someone’s story alive for the people who loved them, and for generations still to come?
Legacy Stones is my way of honouring my mum and dad while helping other families create something just as meaningful for the people they never want to forget.
A stone. A scan. A lifetime.
A memorial that tells their story
Each Legacy Stone combines something permanent with something wonderfully personal.
We create beautifully finished memorial stones featuring a unique QR code. When scanned with a phone, that code opens a dedicated online tribute page celebrating the life of someone special.
Their tribute can include photographs, stories, memories, milestones, favourite things, music, messages from family and friends, and all the little details that help tell the story of who they really were.
Instead of simply remembering a name, future generations can discover the person behind it.
Why we created Legacy Stones
Traditional memorials are incredibly important, but there is only so much that can be engraved onto a stone or plaque.
We wanted to create something that could say more.
Something that could preserve the stories families tell around the dinner table.
The photographs hidden away in albums.
The holidays everyone remembers.
Their favourite song.
Their terrible jokes.
The things they loved.
And the moments that might otherwise slowly disappear over time.
A Legacy Stone provides a physical place to remember while the tribute page gives those memories room to live.
Made with care
We understand that every Legacy Stone represents somebody deeply important.
That is why every order is treated with the care and attention it deserves.
From preparing the stone and creating the QR code to building the tribute page itself, we work closely with families to create something that feels personal, respectful and true to the person being remembered.
There is no standard life story, so there shouldn't be a standard memorial.
As individual as they were
Your memories. Your tribute.
You decide what your tribute says.
It can be simple and understated or filled with photographs, memories and stories.
You might include:
- Their life story and important milestones
- Favourite photographs
- Memories from family and friends
- Favourite places, hobbies, food or music
- Funny stories and little-known facts
- Messages, quotes or sayings
- A timeline of their life
- Places that meant something special to them
Over time, the tribute becomes more than a memorial.
It becomes a small digital archive of a life.
Somewhere meaningful
A place to remember
Legacy Stones can be placed somewhere meaningful to you and your family — perhaps in a garden, beside a favourite tree, near a memorial bench, at a graveside or simply somewhere close to home.
Scan the QR code and the story is there.
A memory.
A familiar song.
A reminder of a life that mattered.
Small stones.
Big stories.
We believe remembrance doesn't have to be about sadness alone.
It can be about smiling at the photographs.
Retelling the stories.
Remembering the quirks.
Sharing memories with grandchildren who may never have had the chance to meet them.
And making sure that years from now, someone can scan a small stone and discover an extraordinary life.
Let’s keep their story alive.
